– International passport validity is set to be extended to 10 years
– The Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS) revealed this on Saturday, November 19
– This extension comes as a result of several complaints from Nigerians
It is good news for many Nigerians to hear that the federal government has plans to extend the validity period for international passports from the current five years to 10 years.
Speaking on this development, the Comptroller-General of NIS, Muhammad Babandede told the press in his office on Saturday, November 19, that Nigerians should expect an announcement on this matter in the coming months.
Babandede said: “We have submitted a memo to the president and we believe we’ll get a positive response to that soon.”
