In the late 90’s, Benita Okojie emerged on the music scene, rosy cheeked and full of innocence as she crooned ‘Osamudiamen….’ She was only 12 and it seemed she was never going to grow up.
Well, ‘little Benita’ is not so little anymore. She reappeared in the media couple of years ago looking all grown up, talking about graduating from university and getting married in the future.
That future has arrived. Few hours ago, it was reported that she was getting married to a long-term boyfriend later this month. Married. Benita Okojie is getting married. At the appropriate age of 27, it shouldn’t raise any eyebrows. But for many of us that saw her in her childhood, it certainly feels just like yesterday. And it makes us feel very old
