Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been taken ill at Kenyatta
National Hospital private wing, it has emerged.
The tormented governor reportedly fell ill at his Industrial
Area prison cell before authorities rushed him to the facility.
Mr. Obado has spent ten days at the Kenya's largest remand
center after detectives linked him to controversial murder of Sharon Otieno.
It could not be immediately established what the governor is
ailing from or the circumstances under which he was admitted.
This comes days after it emerged that Obado was being given
preferential treatment at the Industrial Area prison, a claim with the prison
boss Isaiah Osugo denied.
There were claims last week after he was thrown to Gigiri
police station that he had collapsed but his lawyer Cliff Ombeta termed the
information as 'propaganda'.
On October 8th, Mr. Obado will know his fate following a bond
application he had made.
Also, his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero will know
their bond application fate having been charged with murder jointly.
Ms. Otieno will be buried on October 18th after the family
established that detectives had made progress in the case.
